Responsibilities
Manages the design and implementation of engagement strategies, researching target audiences and designing engagement opportunities that align with strategic objectives and integrate across geographies and issue areas. Establishes strategic community partnerships and leverages internal / external resources to raise the visibility of the organization within communities. Works with cross-functional teams in the advancement of state and national community and volunteer engagement strategies and goals. Manages the execution of community engagement and volunteer strategies at the state and local level. Anticipates volunteer needs and designs and manages the development of materials, processes, procedures, and programs to best meet those needs. Develops and implements volunteer training and leadership programs. Supports volunteer needs and designs and manages opportunities to maximize volunteer engagement. Works with cross-functional teams in the advancement of state and national volunteer strategies and goals. Ensures strong people management across team, monitoring and supporting employee engagement, and volunteer engagement as appropriate. Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. 5 years of experience relevant experience. Prior experience working with volunteers and in community outreach and engagement. Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating with various stakeholder groups. Excellent project management, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, follow directions, collaborate, coordinate, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively with changing priorities. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Ability to develop and manage teams effectively both full-time staff and volunteers while leading a team through strategic evolution and continuous improvement. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% throughout the state with occasional overnight, evening, and weekend hours. Additional travel to regional and national meetings will be required.
