We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in a high-volume Emergency Department in Pittsburgh, PA. This opportunity is ideal for a physician looking for a dynamic and rewarding work environment with flexible scheduling options.
The position requires a monthly commitment of 200 hours, which includes approximately 20 shifts. Physicians must have a minimum availability of two weeks per month. The Emergency Department handles an annual patient volume of 54,000, with 25% of total volume admitted (approximately 13,500 admissions annually). Additionally, 7% of the total patient volume consists of pediatric cases.
Responsibilities include providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, managing a variety of acute medical conditions and trauma cases, and performing necessary procedures and diagnostics to stabilize and treat patients. Physicians will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications :
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine is preferred.
- Physicians boarded in other specialties are also eligible if certification is current. Non-EM boarded physicians working in the Emergency Department must meet the following requirements :
- Certifications : ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
- Completion of a sedation quiz as part of the onboarding process.
- Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain one).
