Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Basketball Coach to join our new youth AAU basketball team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and a commitment to educating young athletes in the fundamentals of basketball. This role involves developing players' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and encouraging environment. The Basketball Coach will work closely with players of varying skill levels, ensuring that each individual receives the guidance necessary to excel both on and off the court.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to the needs of individual players and the team as a whole.
- Teach basketball fundamentals, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive strategies.
- Organize and lead practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Attract and recruit elite players for each AAU season for each division.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to plan games, tournaments, and community events.
- Maintain open communication with players and their families regarding expectations, schedules, and player development.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games by adhering to health guidelines and best practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in youth basketball coaching or training is required.
- Skills in behavior management to effectively guide young athletes in a team setting.
- Experience working in health clubs or childcare settings is a plus for understanding youth engagement strategies.
- A passion for basketball and a commitment to helping others improve their skills is essential.
Requirements
- A background screening with AAU NCSI will be required.

Pay: $45.00 - $75.00 per hour
