What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Production Planning position at AB Corporate?
Key Responsibilities:
The key role of the position is to manage production demand related to finite scheduling while accounting for interdependencies for materials, labor, equipment, and technical support. Utilize ERP and other business systems to operationally optimize scheduling leading to customer order delivery satisfaction. Works cross-functionally to gain insight on issues affecting the production schedule and gain support.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Manage the planning resources and employees across various technologies and plants.
· Responsible for the master production schedule (short-term) accounting for customer priorities, available capacity, labor availability, materials, and production equipment.
· Accounts for the sequencing and lead time of each manufacturing operation to meet shipping dates according to sales/business revenue forecasts and customer orders.
· Plans and prepares long-term production schedules to identify capacity constraints and other production limitations to improve runtime and equipment utilization.
· Monitor the execution of the production plan at each facility and resolve any potential issues timely.
· Investigate production problems or delays, analyze root causes and provide solutions.
· Coordinates with respective Operational Management, including maintenance and warehouse, in the planning /implementing of production equipment which impact scheduling and order execution.
· Developing effective strategies to support new product introduction and increase production efficiency and output while creating a better workflow.
· Support the estimating, budgeting and forecasting processes with production planning insights.
· Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
· Develops throughput standards and KPIs and production reports to monitor the planning and production process and improvements.
· Responsible for establishing and continuously improving the tools, procedures and team training for the production planning process.
