Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Immigration Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate is teachable, ready, and willing to learn, will have an understanding of immigration law, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills to manage case files efficiently. This role involves assisting attorneys in preparing and filing immigration-related documents, conducting legal research, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, client intake, and correspondence. The Immigration Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting clients through the immigration process.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing and reviewing immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to gather relevant information for cases.
- Manage case files and maintain organized records of all documentation related to immigration matters.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to ensure all client information is up-to-date.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as needed.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness before submission to government agencies.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on their cases.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely filing of documents and adherence to deadlines.
- Stay informed about changes in immigration laws and policies that may affect clients.
- Client intake and Answering of laws
Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate
- Previous experience as a paralegal, particularly in immigration law, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as PCLaw is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent document review skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
