Position

Objective:

 

Lead a production team to meet all of AB Mauri requirements of working safely, efficiently and with an attention to detail. Have a thorough knowledge of the machinery, production processes, and its requirements in the manufacturing, packaging, and storage of AB Mauri products.

Leadership

  • Start-up and shut-down duties and responsibilities
  • Production/Quality document verification
  • Identifies issues, problems, and solutions and collaborates in areas of safety, quality, and production/operations.
  • Trains and helps to enforce compliance to SQF, GMP’s, Safety, Quality, Sanitation, Production, Health, and Environmental standards.
  • Assists Supervisor in monitoring the use of control points, critical control points, equipment, and resources.
  • Assign tasks to production operators.
  • Notifies management of non-conformances and any violations to policy or procedures.
  • Provides on the floor leadership, guidance, support to production operators.
  • Coaches and encourages suggestions from production operators which will improve productivity, quality, safety, and morale.

Production

  • Following all food safety and operating procedures that are outlined by the company’s standards including start-up, changeovers, shutdown, and safe operation of machinery.
  • Ensure critical control points are checked on all required equipment and report findings.
  • Accurately record required information on to production/ quality documentation.
  • Report any mechanical malfunctions to management.
  • Ensure that finished product is properly labeled and is marked with an accurate and legible lot code.
  • Operate forklifts safely.

Sanitation

  • Ensure scheduled sanitation of production area is being conducted including daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
  • Maintain a clean work area within the department per sanitation standards.
  • Accurately record required information on to appropriate documentation.

Safety

  • Safety is mandatory and priority for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Complete all forms, checklists and documentation required by company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to endorse and maintain a safe culture at all times.
  • Wear appropriate PPE in designated work areas.

Maintenance

  • Keep equipment in a clean and neat condition.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on machinery as needed.

Quality

  • Produce quality products in a manner that meets production targets and complies with the company’s food safety, quality standards and safety guidelines.

Human Resources

  • Comply with all Local & Corporate HR policies and procedures.
  • Notify management of any violations to policies.

Other

  • Contribute to continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications


A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two to Four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Basic Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages.
  • Knowledge and ability to be certified with on stand-up/sit-down forklift, and scissor lift.
  • Previous knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, AIB/ASI standards.
  • Biochemical process and/or Food manufacturing experience.
  • Basic PC skills in Word, Excel.
  • Proactive and self-directed with the ability to give direction, delegate tasks, and provide feedback.
  • Proven leader with strong oral and written English communication, time management, coaching, and priority setting.
  • A continuous improvement mind set.

Other Factors

 

Ability to work 40 hours per week or scheduled hours, able to work overtime (Saturdays or Sundays) as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; hear; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to allergens. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, vibration, and cleaning chemicals.
