EHR/Healthcare Data Migration Specialist - SaaS Cloud based (Local to TEXAS ONLY)

Job Title: EHR/Healthcare Data Migration Specialist - SaaS Cloud based

Location: Hybrid at Austin, Texas 78751

Description:

1. Lead the migration efforts of the current legacy system to new modernized cloud-based SaaS solutions. This includes comprehensive planning, data assessment, extraction, cleansing, and mapping to ensure compatibility with the new system. The worker will primarily work on developing scripts to extract data out of legacy systems such as Oracle Cerner’s Millennium database in HL7 format (60%).
2. Perform necessary testing of the migration process, including creating and executing Unit test scripts, managing test scenarios, analyzing test results, and debugging issues. Utilize established software development and testing standards to ensure the reliability and functionality of the new SaaS solution. (20%).
3. Provide regular updates on the migration progress to all project stakeholders including immediate managers, technical leads, developers, and business analysts. Use ticketing systems for information sharing and problem resolution. Prepare and deliver presentations and updates to both internal and external audiences to explain the migration process, system functionality, and technical challenges (10%).
4. Facilitate the smooth transition to the new system by providing strategic oversight and support post-migration. This includes training end-users, preparing comprehensive system documentation, and recommending strategies for optimizing system performance based on feedback and performance metrics. (5%).

Experience/Skills

• Database management systems, workflows and data migration, with a strong emphasis on healthcare EHR systems in developing scripting, extracting data in hL7 format and mapping to target systems.
• Experience in Oracle Cerner Millennium database, Cerner Command Language (CCL) data extraction scripting, crucial for the efficient migration of data to new SaaS platforms.
• Business analysis, including reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and identifying solutions to automate processes or enhance system functionality.
• Experience in EHR application domain, understand current system and create workflow analysis, developing work flows, design, programming, and support using software engineering practices.
• Experience in documenting process flows and standardizes existing and future process flow improvements by conducting data collection and meetings with the subject matter experts to gain full understanding of system usability and documenting the workflows.
• Preparing specifications for data input/output processes. Resolving complex data-related issues using robust analytical skills and logical problem-solving approaches.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, essential for producing clear project documentation and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of current IT industry trends and market insights, applying them strategically within the organization.
• Architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information systems, applications, and organizational structure.
• Resolving complex data-related issues using robust analytical skills and logical problem-solving approaches.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to lead diverse teams and inspire high productivity and collaboration among team members.
• Prior experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
• Familiarity with the existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components
• Experience in regulatory compliance and data security related to healthcare data.
