Location: Chadds Ford, PA
The available hours are for an in home after school client. Applicant must have completed the 40 hour RBT trainings or willing to complete them prior to starting, must be willing and able to work in the listed locations and possible other close areas, and must reside locally. This would start as part time but could quickly lead to full time hours as we have both home and school hours available. In order to be considered full time, staff are required to work a school based case as well as a home based case in order to fill 35 hours per week. We also have an intensive BCBA training program that provides both restricted and unrestricted hours if there are openings in the program.
Behavior technicians are responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the BCBA. The behavior technician may also collect data under the supervision of a BCBA.
Availability: Monday-Friday (after school hours)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 40 hour RBT Training modules completed
- A minimum of 2 years post secondary education preferred in psychology, special education, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, special education, or related field preferred;
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician is preferred for this position.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with special needs as a behavior technician, preferably in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis is required.
Knowledge of:
- Appropriate behavioral intervention strategies
- Interpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situations
- Technology including use of electronic records (Rethink Behavioral Health) and data collection in Rethink or a similar program highly preferred.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Assess situations and make proper judgments
- Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner
- Communicate effectively
- Use a computer and behavioral software to prepare documents, maintain client records, and collect data.
- Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
- Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance own professional development
- Work with a diverse team of professionals in a respectful manner
- Supervise clients during treatment sessions
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of fingerprinting, and criminal history background check
- Completion of required trainings by due dates established
- Must have access to a phone or tablet during sessions to complete documentation and data collection.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must attend supervision twice per month (1 hour each) outside of the scheduled session times via zoom or in person with assigned BC supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Provide direct behavioral services to clients in individual sessions
- Run skill acquisition programs with clients using Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior
- Work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts and/or Behavior Consultants to implement individualized treatment plans
- Collect data and graph data as instructed using technological programs, such as Microsoft Excel or behavioral software (e.g., Rethink)
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
- Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations arise
- Other job duties as assigned by the BCBA or other administrator

- Attend and successfully complete the following prior to beginning job (Failure to successfully complete these trainings can jeopardize the ability to be employed at the agency):
- New staff orientation
- Crisis Intervention Training
- First Aid/CPR/AED training provided by the agency and renew certifications as needed
- Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Training
- HIPAA/HITECH/FERPA Training
- Use of data collection and apps
- Other agency or state specific trainings
