We collaborate with individuals diagnosed with autism and their families to create a life that is meaningful to them, focusing on creating joyful relationships, building social learning repertoires, and developing language for independence. We use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in natural, supportive ways while our learners’ assent to the therapy process and enjoy their time with us! We are hiring a Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) to help us achieve this mission.

The SLP will be primarily responsible for the speech and language evaluation and treatment of children ages 2-15 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The SLP will collaborate and partner with Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Behavior Technicians, family/caregivers, and educational team as well as other disciplines. The SLP will be responsible for providing consultation regarding speech and language programing for all center-based clients.

Essential Job Functions
- Evaluate and provide diagnostic impression using a variety of diagnostic tests, as appropriate, for receptive language, expressive language, articulation and phonology, fluency and voice as well as through interviews, clinical observation and informal methods.
- Develop speech and language goals/objectives for each individual through assessment/testing and person-center planning.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to assist with communication dysfunctions addressed within treatment plan.
- Analyze and interpret progress related to treatment plan and adjust goals/objectives and/or therapeutic approach as appropriate.
- Identify appropriate Augmentative and Assistive Communication systems, including speech generating devices.
- Complete daily treatment notes on client progress and timely submission of progress reports to funding sources and family.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and PHI security standards.
- Weekly meetings with clinical teams, including Area Managers and Clinical Director.
- Periodic observation of and consultation for individual clients.
- Consultation on development of speech and language programing with caregivers, educators, and Insight clinicians.
- Staff trainings on a variety of topics related to speech and language development and treatment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Experience with autism across a variety of ages and abilities.
- Fluent knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Professional verbal communication skills internally and externally and excellent writing skills for client progress reports and email communications.
- Self-disciplined with the ability to schedule and attend client appointments and clinical team meetings with consistency, reliability and punctuality.
- Established organizational skills to meet required deadlines and clinical service expectations.
- Motivation to participate in and support a positive culture that prioritizes collaboration and empowerment.
- Must be able to pass a variety of background checks.
- Must complete additional training after employment including but not limited to; company in-services and required funding source trainings.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting and standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to work in various environments to perform therapy such as home, schools, centers and community settings.
- Must be willing to drive within a 30-60-mile radius for treatment of clients in center locations (paid drive time/mileage).
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
- Must have access to email and phone contact.
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
- License in Speech/Language Pathology with the State of Michigan.
- At least one (1) year experience completing comprehensive speech assessments and with two (2) years’ experience serving individuals with lifelong disabilities in some capacity.
