What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at ABA+?
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide one-on-one support to individuals and their families in their homes and communities rather than in a center-based setting.
We are seeking support for our clients in Indianapolis on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for three to six hours during the day, once per week. There is also the possibility of longer sessions on weekends. These sessions will focus on community engagement, companionship, communication, supportive listening, budgeting, and assisting with daily activities. Your role is essential in helping clients achieve their goals and ensuring that meaningful interactions take place within the community. You will work closely with the client's families to provide this support.
We have another exciting opportunity to support our clients in the Indianapolis area for ten to twelve hours per week, possibly more, depending on your availability. Evening shifts are available during the week and from 4 PM to 8 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. These sessions will focus on companionship and supportive listening while working closely with the client's family to create, schedule, and plan opportunities for volunteer work within the community. Our families thrive on consistency, and we are seeking a trusted and reliable presence to help build clients' confidence and social connections while fostering meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Provide mentoring, support, and social activities to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Assist with daily living activities such as socializing, getting out into the community, and learning daily living skills such as meal preparation or running errands for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of your client at all times.
- Promote and uphold the rights and dignity of your clients.
- Support the goals of the client, family, and your team.
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress.

Qualifications:
First Aid & CPR Certification
Negative TB Test
Clear Background Check
Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Able to assist clients with mobility or transfers if necessary
Able to create and maintain documentation and familiarity with EVV (Electronic Visit Verification)
