Education Required: Minimum education requirement of an Associate’s degree or at least two years of job-related experience or equivalent job-related experience.
Experience Required:
Expert-level ability to create and modify drawings, illustrations, and diagrams using AutoCAD software.
Capable of gaining an understanding of USCG general drawing practices and procedures.
General naval engineering knowledge, including Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic components.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide drafting support by creating and modifying developed engineering drawings and correcting drawing elements using AutoCAD to align with USCG engineering drawing requirements.
Ensure the maintenance and prolongation of Coast Guard assets by accurately drafting for the WMEC, WAGB, WMSL, and PS cutter classes.
Apply USCG standard border AutoCAD blocks, remove revision markings to create an “Initial Release” drawing, and update tables, text, dimensions, etc., based on detailed ‘red lined’ drawings.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting and modifying technical drawings.
Ability to interpret and incorporate detailed 'red lined' drawings into final drafts.
Familiarity with naval engineering concepts and components to effectively support drawing modifications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and adhere to project guidelines and requirements.
Required Certifications:
- Autodesk Certified User (ACU) in AutoCAD, Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in AutoCAD, or other relevant AutoCAD certifications.
This role is essential in supporting the operational readiness of Coast Guard assets through meticulous drafting and modification of engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with USCG standards and requirements.
