Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in nurturing and educating young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Requirements
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the school curriculum and assessing the developmental needs of students.
- Assist in the management of and participate in a variety of learning activities that provide opportunities for children to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning goals.
- Carry out substitute plans if a lead teacher is not present.
- Completing prep work needed within the classroom for activities and lessons.
- Assist with presenting lessons in a nurturing, curiosity-driven environment that fosters the appropriate developmental stages in children’s lives.
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing activities and curriculum that will support and develop self-esteem and social skills.
- Assist children with meal times, bathroom needs/diaper changes, and clean-up when needed
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment through the sanitation of toys and cleaning of the classroom
- Communicate daily with children, parents, and staff in a positive, professional manner.
- Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the school, and the collective/individual interest of its staff and student body.
- Positively interact with students to meet their individual needs to support play, exploration, and learning.
- Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom and equipment.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and other meetings upon request.
Qualifications
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles
- Classroom management skills and experience
- Knowledge of childhood development and special education practices
- Ability to create a nurturing and safe environment for children
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
