Job Overview
The Floating Teacher is responsible for supporting various classrooms within the childcare center as needed. This flexible role involves assisting lead teachers, managing groups of children, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all students. The Floating Teacher will adapt to different classroom settings, providing continuity of care and education when additional support is required.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in daily classroom activities, routines, and lesson implementation.
- Move between classrooms as needed, providing coverage for staff absences, breaks, or during busy periods.
- Supervise children's activities to ensure safety and well-being.
- Foster positive interactions and relationships with children, encouraging development through play and activities.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities aligned with the center's curriculum and goals.
- Adapt activities to meet the varying needs and interests of children in different classrooms.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and experiences at the center.
- Provide support and guidance to families as needed to foster a positive partnership.
- Ensure that classrooms are clean, organized, and conducive to learning.
- Follow health and safety regulations, reporting any concerns or incidents to appropriate staff.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Participate in required trainings.
Experience
- Proven experience in classroom settings, daycare facilities, or preschool environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate with children of various ages, as well as their parents or guardians.
- Experience working with students to educate them on various subjects while fostering their personal growth.
- A passion for teaching and nurturing young learners is essential.
