Job Details:
- This class performs skilled technical duties in area of specialty and on specific projects, performing under the general supervision of an Engineering Specialist.
This is a "mandatory-testing " position that requires Drug Testing.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Repairs, installs, and maintains County-wide signal system including fiber optic, twisted pair copper, and wireless communication systems.
- Conducts preventive maintenance on traffic signals.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program, signal inventory list, inspection log and detailed records related to traffic signals.
- Performs field inspections of electrical work in all traffic signal controller cabinet and equipment to ensure compliance.
- Assists in the Sunshine One (utility location) program.
- Inspects and verifies proper traffic signal operation, including investigating complaints regarding traffic signals.
- Assists in the monitoring of the Traffic Signals Operation Center (TSOC).
TYPICAL QUALIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and at least six months of specialized or technical training beyond high school in area of specialty.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAOs):
