Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our construction sites. This position requires a strong understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and occupational health practices. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and workers to promote a culture of safety and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and EHS standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with project management teams to integrate safety considerations into construction planning and execution.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management or a related field with a strong emphasis on risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, EHS standards, and compliance management practices.
- Familiarity with construction management software for tracking safety metrics and reporting.
- Strong understanding of occupational health principles as they relate to construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong focus on individual responsibilities.
- Certification in safety management or related fields is preferred but not required.
