What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Technician position at Abacus Solution Group?
Abacus is looking to hire a Highway Maintenance Laborer in the Buffalo, TX area.
This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance cleanup and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Preferred Experience :
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
Concrete forming / repair experience
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand / power tools
Additional :
- High School Diploma / GED
- MUST have a valid driver's license
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance / drug testing)
- Monday to Friday 630am-3pm
- On call 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off - these could be day or night shift
- 16.50 / hr with benefits
