Position Overview: We’re hiring a Computer Security Systems Specialist to support the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. In this position you’ll become part of technically diverse team to include but not limited to Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender ATP, Tanium).
- Develop and implement security policies and configurations for endpoint devices (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Perform threat hunting, malware analysis, and incident response on endpoints.
- Collaborate with SOC analysts and incident response teams to triage and remediate endpoint-related alerts.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Conduct regular security posture assessments of endpoints and recommend improvements.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
- Support patch management and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Ensure endpoint compliance with government and industry regulations.
- Implement, administer, configure, and support the MECM Enterprise environment.
- Maintain and update Windows Server OS and Hardware.
- Desktop deployment automation architecture, design, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and maintain a workstation image for large environments.
- Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise desktop technologies.
- Deployment, installation, and administration of Microsoft Office products.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues and actively pursue mechanisms for preventing, or automating the response to reoccurrences.
- Implement security policies for applications and operating systems utilizing Group Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ comparable professional experience working as either a System Administrator or a System Engineer within a Microsoft Windows environment
- Experience managing and designing an OS image for large scale environments
- Knowledge of the Windows registry, interaction of drivers within the OS, and unattended/silent installs of Windows operating systems.
- Functional working and debugging knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience in SCCM administration, patching and maintenance.
- Experience utilizing automated technologies for the deployment of desktop systems
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with Microsoft 365 environment
- Experience with Tenable; experience with Plugin ID's, BOD, CEV, KEV's
Required Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study; Experience may substitute for the Degree
- Prefer candidates with industry recognized certifications such as: CompTIA Server or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
Security Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
