ABACUS 30 Hour Lead Provider

Qualifications:
BA/BS Diploma in Education School Age childcare or related
OR
Associate Degree in Education or related field and 1 years in School Age Childcare
OR
DEEC Certification in Early Childhood Education
- Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the ABACUS Director and/or his/her Supervisor deems appropriate.
- Knowledge of and experience with school-age children and childcare.
- Ability to organize and work independently.
- Possess leadership skills and qualities with the ability to work cooperatively with staff, pupils, and parents.
Reports to: ABACUS Director/Assistant Director/Site Manager
Supervises: All Children in the Program, Providers, High School Assistants, and Volunteers
Job Goal:
To provide a safe, balanced program of enrichment activities and education to students in the ABACUS Program.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Available to work both morning program at 6:30 m. and afternoon program until 6:00 p.m.
- Prepares and submits monthly lesson plans according to schedule
- Supervises or prepares breakfast and/or snack for children
- Ensures the daily care and safety of children enrolled in the program
- Organizes and supervises activities and programs for entertainment as well as enrichment
- Oversees the daily contact with parents, ensuring proper procedures of dropping off and picking up children, as well as keeping parents informed of upcoming events, and any issues involving their child
- Maintains overall order and discipline of all students with follow up in journal or parent discussion
- Keeps Site Manager advised of any attendance, discipline, staff or site problems
- Maintains daily operation and cleanup of site
- Plans, arranges, and carries out daily schedule
- Maintains overall site with regards to space, food, and inventory
- Promotes communication with staff at schools, e. principals, teachers, custodians, office staff
- Keeps accurate records of children, files, and daily counts
- Assists in training or mentoring new staff
- Attends monthly staff meetings
- Obtains and maintains CPR and First-Aid certification
- Participates in at least ten (10) hours per year of staff workshops in addition to monthly staff
- Carries out all job duties outlined in the Staff Handbook or additional duties assigned by supervisory staff
- Is aware of and participates in implementing standards set by the Department of Elementary Education as well as Department of Early Education and Care
