Position Summary :
Job Title : Project Assistant
Duration : 06 Months Contract
Location : Los Angeles, CA - 90089
Note : Onsite, with the potential for some remote days
Typically, 8 : 30 am-5 pm, but will occasionally need to work evening or early morning hours

Job Description : Responsibilities :
Provide appropriate guidance to students regarding Career Connections services and events and refer students to other offices as needed.
Assists in the planning and execution of VCC events as needed.
This may include managing volunteers, interacting with vendors, managing budgets, advertising events to students / employers, preparing materials for students, employers, and alumni, helping staff manage the event day, and ensuring appropriate billing.
Assists in preparing and distributing communication materials to students and employers.
Support full-time staff with managing the Student Career Ambassador Program. Including supporting employer recruitment events and other tasks as needed.
Support the management of the ENGR internship courses for credit, which may include reviewing internship course applications and grading submitted assignments for each course.
Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, alumni, and staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change responsibilities at any time.
Preferred Education and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.
Proven skill in developing and maintaining accurate, organized records, files, and filing systems.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize, delegate, and execute multiple tasks.
Experience in working with MS Office and database programs.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to independently compose letters, emails, and memos and proofread and edit VCC communication.
Excellent verbal communication, including over the phone and public speaking.

Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating sensitivity, tact, patience, and diplomacy at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
