What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Clerk position at Abacus?
Duties include:
- This position is 100% forward facing customer service role.
- Candidate is responsible for answering phones, greeting customers that enter the shelter, cash handling, and completing license/foster applications. Often times, being the front line, clerks experience irate customers and need to be aware that de-escalation of situations is expected. Clerks do not interact with the dog however they are working at a dog shelter. Candidate must not be afraid being around dogs.
Schedule:
- The schedule is Thursday, Friday, Monday 10:45am – 7:15 pm and Sat/Sun 8:45am – 5:15pm, with Tuesday and Wednesday OFF.
We’d like to continue the expected process:
- Abacus reviews minimum information with each candidate of pay, schedule and availability PRIOR to sending resume.
- Send resume for review- I have copied hiring managers Dwayne Young and Andre Frazier here as well, because I’d like all resumes to be sent to them for review please.
- FCDS reviews resume and contacts candidate for in person interview
- FCDS follows up with Abacus on candidates that were scheduled for interviews
Pay Rate $15.00/hour, when/if hired full time through the county, rate would increase to $19.00.
