POSITION : Program Worker (Virtual Academy β Abacus)
REPORTS TO : Supervisor of Virtual Learning
LOCATION : Virtual Academy
NATURE OF WORK :
This position is responsible for providing support of virtual learning programs housed through
the Virtual Academy. The employee must be able to create, maintain, and utilize appropriate
reports and data entry through the use of Google Apps for Education (Docs, Spreadsheets, etc)
as well as be able to pull data from Schoology, Edgenuity, and Performance Matters.

Possess knowledge of the programs, policies, and procedures of the St. Mary's County
Public School System
Possess the ability to learn and support new and evolving technologies
Ability to work independently and carry an assignment to completion
Ability to work effectively with Coordinator and Paraeducators to ensure completion of
the final products for St. Mary's Hospital.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Creates appropriate spreadsheets to aid in the compilation of data such as, but not
limited to, grades, attendance, and parent contact
Prepares and distributes reports to comprehensive high schools and middle schools
Maintains accurate records and various procedural documents used for the support of
Virtual Academy students and the programs of Home and Hospital Teaching, Interim
Alternative Education Classroom, Alternative Education Program, Parenting and Pregnant
Program, and the Edgenuity Virtual Learning Opportunities
Uses technology to capture relevant and meaningful data, as directed, in support of the
Virtual Academy and associated programs
Creates and maintains accurate reporting, as well as grades and attendance for virtual
Academy students
Updates as needed, all supporting documentation for all programs at the Virtual Academy
QUALIFICATIONS : Required :
High School Degree or GED
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Temporary-hourly position : maximum 15 hours per week
SALARY GRADE RANGE : The salary for this temporary hourly position is $15 per hour for
non-degreed employees, $15.50 for degreed employees
BARGAINING UNIT ELIGIBILITY : Not eligible
