Mobile Imaging Veterinary Ultrasound (MiVU) is looking for a passionate veterinarian to join our mobile ultrasound team in the Charlotte area!

MiVU, established in 2012, is a successful and growing mobile veterinary service that provides convenient diagnostic ultrasound services to over 500 animal hospitals in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. With the high demand of veterinary ultrasound, along with our mission to ensure ALL primary veterinarians have access to this useful diagnostic tool, we are motivated to expand our services to a new location. In order to progress in our mission, we are seeking an upbeat, positive, and driven veterinarian to bring our services to the vibrant city of Charlotte, NC. You would work directly with other veterinarians, and collaborate on cases with specialists, offering timely and reliable diagnostic services to their hospital and patients.

We encourage veterinarians with an interest and experience in ultrasound to apply. You will be trained for up to 4 months, and compensated during training. Description

  • Conduct an ultrasound scan to complete an abdominal exam, thoracic exam, confirm pregnancy, estimate litter size, confirm fetal viability, investigate parathyroids & thyroid glands, cryptorchid exam, ocular exam, and/or a general health screen.
  • Use echocardiography to determine the source and extent of cardiac pathology
  • Perform ultrasound-guided fluid cavity centesis
  • Execute ultrasound-guided biopsy to include tru-cut tissue core biopsies (14ga.) and fine-needle biopsy.
  • Writing of accurate and detailed medical reporting

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
  • At least five years of veterinary clinical experience
  • Ultrasound experience highly preferred

Training Support

  • Training provided by MiVU Veterinarians for up to 4 months
  • Additional training and support provided by SVP internists, radiologists, and cardiologists
  • CE Course(s)

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The teammate is required to sit*; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate a computer and other machinery such as a keyboard, etc. *Sitting up to 3 hours per day in a car.
