Job Description
The Veterinarian plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients while developing strong relationships with their owners. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, as well as client communication and education. Each pet and client is treated like part of the family.
Responsibilities
- Determine client needs and wishes, perform physical examinations, and deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Explain examination findings, communicate diagnoses, and present treatment plans to clients.
- Educate clients on preventative healthcare, including vaccines and nutritional products.
- Maintain accurate client/patient records and assist colleagues in follow-up and future management.
- Participate in Continuing Education meetings to stay updated on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Develop the paraprofessional team to ensure exceptional client service and high-quality care.
- Represent the hospital positively in the professional community and to the general public.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of application.
- Professional comportment, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
- Able to make decisions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
