Job Overview
This role involves assembling various machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, and appliances according to established directions. Key responsibilities include:
- Reading blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation to ensure accurate assembly.
- Utilizing various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Maintaining logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
- Performing basic repairs on equipment and conveyors when needed.
- Inventorying tools, parts, and supplies, and contacting the materials handler if additional supplies are required.
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering job spec sheets, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and standard assembly drawings.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, and battery-operated tools.
- Familiarity with hardware arrangements, including nuts, bolts, and screws.
- Understanding of 5S principles: sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain.
- Knowledge and use of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
- Basic computer skills to look up parts based on bill of materials.
- Candidates must already possess a work authorization that would permit them to work for Abb Holdings Inc in the US.
