We are seeking an experienced In-Office Medicaid Biller with over 5 years of specialized
experience in MHR billing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving
a minimum of 95% first-time claim approval, possess deep knowledge of Medicaid billing
procedures, and be adept at handling billing for a large-scale agency. This role is a contract
position governed by Louisiana state laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Medicaid & MHR Billing:
o Process and submit Medicaid claims, with a specific focus on MHR billing, to
all Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
o Maintain a high standard of accuracy to achieve a first-time claim approval
rate of at least 95%.
- Denied Claim Management:
o Monitor, track, and submit corrected claims for any denied or rejected billing
submissions.
o Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to identify discrepancies and improve
claim accuracy.
- Staff & Client Billing Profiles:
o Set up and manage staff billing profiles.
o Assign and attach appropriate billing codes to client profiles to ensure
seamless billing operations.
- Compliance & Documentation:
o Ensure all billing activities comply with relevant state and federal regulations.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation and records for audit and review
purposes.
- Communication & Coordination:
o Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve billing
issues promptly.
o Provide updates and report on billing metrics and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in Medicaid billing, specifically MHR
billing.
- Technical Skills:
o In-depth understanding of Medicaid billing processes and submission
procedures for all MCOs.
o Strong ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
o Demonstrated success in achieving a 95% first-time claims approval rate.
- Operational Skills:
o Proven experience in setting up staff billing profiles and assigning client
billing codes accurately.
o Ability to manage billing for a large-scale agency efficiently.
- Legal & Regulatory Knowledge:
o Familiarity with Louisiana state laws governing Medicaid billing and contract
work.
- Work Environment:
o Ability to work on-site for a minimum of 20 hours per week in an office
setting.
