Job Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) administers occupational therapy to patients in the hospital and outpatient clinic. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist and the Director of Rehabilitation and Wellness. May visit Home Health patients as census allows.

Minimum Education Requirement

Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

Minimum Experience Requirement

Two years experience preferred.

Minimum License Requirement

Certification is maintained by the AOTA. A person who meets the requirements for certifications as an Occupational Therapy Assistant established by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Current SC Certification

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions

Walking or standing a significant amount of time. Must be able to treat patients at the patient's home. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
