Abbeville Commissioning, LLC (ACx) is a growing engineering firm currently seeking to fill a position for a Building Commissioning Specialist (Level 1). ACx is driven by integrity to provide the most accurate and detailed commissioning services possible with the building owner's needs as a top priority.
Employee will work in a team environment to resolve critical customer issues. Employee will work directly with senior staff contributing to resolution of problems. Employee will work with Architects, Engineers, and Construction Contractors. Ideal candidate will be professional, and results driven. Bachelor's degree in engineering field and/or Construction Project Management (required).
Position Summary:
The Building Commissioning Specialist (Level 1) will coordinate and manage the commissioning process for complex commercial construction and renovation projects from Pre-Design through Warranty Phases. Multiple projects must be managed simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees various aspects of the commissioning process to include equipment and system testing, technical report development, scope management, system issues resolution, team coordination, and scheduling of assigned projects.
- Collaborates with project team to create a strategic action plan for time, labor, and other resources required to complete commissioning of the project.
- Develops and contributes to the development of project documentation to include checklists, test procedures, technical progress reports, systems manuals, etc.
- Inspects project progress and analyzes and/or recommends issues for correction according to project drawings and specifications.
- Supervises commissioning process of each assigned project.
- Collaborates with design professional to recommend changes to Project Drawings if problems arise.
- Analyzes equipment, oversees processes, and tests systems, to identify issues helping ensure system efficiency, increase quality, and reduced risk for the owner.
- Prepares in-depth, technical weekly progress reports, status updates, and memos for record for leadership.
- Ensures that commissioned equipment and systems are in compliance with Project Drawings and Specifications, industry standards, codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
- Collaborates with the Lead Commissioning Engineer to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Presents commissioning issues and updates in bi-weekly meetings with customers and contractors
- Analyzes problems and researches technical issues to provide recommendations
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering / building systems discipline or construction project management required.
- At least two years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
