Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchases and maintains inventory levels at competitive prices
- Calculates purchasing needs based on current and past usage reports and market conditions.
- Maintains positive relationships with vendors and plants.
- Ensures vendors are paid for purchases in a timely manner and resolves issues with accounts payables.
- Works with others within department and the company to achieve desired goals.
- Assures that the product is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
- Reviews and tracks purchasing history to forecast future inventory needs and analyze performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university or three to five years related experience in the lumber industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
