Job Summary
The Youth Specialist plays a vital role in providing care and support to young individuals in various residential settings, including offsite community programs, and residential treatment facilities, and single family homes. . This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who can effectively engage with youth, promote their well-being, and assist in their development. The Youth Specialist will utilize skills in behavior management and patient care to create a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.
Duties
- Provide direct care and support to youth, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and outcomes.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with basic medical needs as required.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of youth progress and incidents in compliance with organizational policies.
- Participate in training sessions related to first aid, patient care, and memory care techniques.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages youth engagement and participation in activities.
Qualifications
- Experience or training in first aid, vital signs monitoring, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of behavior management systems to address the needs of diverse youth populations.
- Previous experience in patient care, senior care, or memory care is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with youth and their families.
