What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Specialist position at Abbott Laboratories Employees Credit Union?
SUMMARY: This position will be primarily responsible for driving the credit union’s business development initiatives and onsite educational offerings in all national sponsor facilities and will also support national and local efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and deepens key sponsor relationships at all sponsor company locations outside of Illinois.
- Assists with the opening of all online new membership request and existing member add-ons.
- Completes audits for new online membership applications to ensure the team is adhering to established account opening procedures.
- Develops new business opportunities at non-Illinois based site locations, including support of corporate initiatives and educational opportunities.
- Schedules, plans, finalizes and attends sponsor and member business development events.
- Maintains database of key Business Development contacts (CRM) to identify current and future sponsor needs.
- Coordinates and presents credit union webinars and educational initiatives.
- Promotes products and services to prospective members during table events and during new online onboarding.
- Achieves sales goals as defined by Senior Manager of Sales.
- Utilizes sales and service skills to respond to the needs of sponsor company contacts, members and prospective members.
- Partners with Senior Manager of Sales for marketing communications for all Business Development events.
- Supports inventory maintenance for all Business Development branded items.
- Maintains department intranet page.
- Conducts product and rate research assignments in preparation for site visits.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Travels with and supports nationally based sponsor events, such as National Sales Meetings and other conferences.
- Acts as back-up support for all Illinois-based Business Development events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience Preferred: Associate’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations or related field
- Experience Required: Two (2) years of financial sales experience
- Experience Preferred: Three (3) years of financial sales experience
TRAVEL: Up to 70% national travel, overnight travel, up to two trips per month
