Scarborough, MEcurrently has an opportunity for aFacilities Technician IIThis role will perform routine repairs and maintenance on facilities and facility-related equipment. Work will include, but not be limited to, work involving one or more of the following trades : carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC / refrigeration repair and installation.Rotating Schedule : 12 Hour Shift : 5 : 30 AM to 6 : 00 PM.RESPONSIBILITIES :Perform routine, periodic, and special inspections to assess equipment health and safety.Assist in packing, moving, and reconfiguring the Facility areas.Perform troubleshooting and maintenance actions on facilities equipment.Interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, layouts and wiring diagrams.Perform and document routine maintenance actions.Perform and document assigned workorder requests.Escort and assist outside vendors in the performance of their contractual obligations.Maintain records.Maintain inventory of spare parts.Respond to alarm or trouble calls as required.Provide guidance to other technicians and personnel within the Facilities Department.Establish a basic understanding of Building Management System (BMS) to monitor equipment status, change equipment status for maintenance actions, change setpoints (as allowed), troubleshoot malfunctions or problems, etc.Make recommendations on cost savings initiatives.Perform other duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION :High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.3 years experience in a similar field.Familiarity with formal preventative maintenance programPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :Technical Degree with a focus in Mechanical, HVAC, or Electrical and / or another related technical field.COMPETENCIES :Demonstrated ability to evaluate work and determine the scope and work procedures necessary to perform the job.Ability to prioritize problems and projects effectively ensuring that operation, appearance, and upkeep of the facility are maintained at a high standardSolid mechanical aptitude with proven ability to logically troubleshoot problems, recommend short term and long-term solutionsAbility to safely and effectively use diagnostic tools (including, but not limited to multi-meter, manometer, refrigerant gauges, etc.) to troubleshoot, determine root cause, repair and upgrade equipment in a timely manner.Ability to interact with customers in a polite, courteous manner and provide feedback on progress and or challenges.Intermediate computer skills.Ability to coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to mitigate impact to normal operations.An equal opportunity employer, Abbott welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce.We provide reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities.
The base pay for this position is $22.15 $44.25 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
