This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining components of an Operational Excellence program. The program utilizes Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement across the site.

• Facilitate and lead the implementation of OpEx strategies
• Influence, motivate, and train others to use techniques and tools such as Standard Work, Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S , and Visual Management
• Identify process improvement opportunities and coordinate actions with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish goals
• Understand, utilize, and communicate key performance indicators and metrics to drive behavior and improvements
• Coordinate, facilitate and manage cross-functional projects within the site using Lean Six Sigma/OpEx tools and processes
• Act as a change agent to lead team members in the engagement and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
• Serve as a resource and subject matter expert (SME) regarding OpEx elements and Continuous Improvement initiatives as it relates to projects, process changes, and other improvements
• Collect and analysis production data focusing on visualizing and identifying trends
• Lead and support cost improvement projects.
• Other departmental support duties may also be assigned

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior experience in manufacturing
• Previous experience using Lean Six Sigma tools/processes or utilizing the DMAIC method to solve problems
• Demonstrated problem-solving, project management and leadership skills
• Experience in Change Management practices
• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency (MS Office Suite, etc.)
• A self-starter with ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and think independently
• Microsoft Power BI experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt Certification
• Awareness of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00-$114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
