The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Procurement Manager - Ingredient Sourcing & Risk Manager in our Columbus, Easton Square, OH location.
- As the Procurement Manager, you will provide up to $200MM of production materials, through over 55 suppliers to Abbott Nutrition’s worldwide facilities.
- Magnitude of division purchases often places incumbent in lead negotiation position to secure contracts to meet the needs of the division and may affect other divisions of Abbott. Nature of contracts negotiated may commit resources and capital for multiple years with direct and significant impact to the profit margins of the corporation. Responsible for planning and executing purchase strategies within global commodities to secure supply of products and services that may provide a strategic advantage in future development of products by R&D.
- Raw Material Sourcing and Procurement Optimization:
- Locations: N.A. (6), Europe (4), Asia (3) and TPM support as required.
- Responsible for the consistent supply of quality raw materials, on time, to support manufacturing operations with no interruption in supply.
- Secure consistency of contracts across the global commodities.
- Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers worldwide.
- Facilitate supplier selection and ongoing supplier relationships with other areas of AN including Engineering, Package Development, R&D, QA, Creative Services and plants.
- Leverage relationships to satisfy strategic procurement requirements for the corporation.
- Financial:
- Responsible for division purchases and commitment of funds up to $200MM.
- Establish and submit financial plans to Category Manager for global commodities .
- Responsibility for delivering against financial plans, updates and LRP.
- Cost Savings / Avoidance:
- Responsible for the strategies and programs to minimize the cost of materials and services.
- Identification and initiation across the Division of cost savings projects using internal and external resources.
- Leadership:
- Coach and inspire global others to assure they are successful and aligned with the AN Vision.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
In addition to the primary function/goals/objectives, the incumbent is responsible for the following:
- Performance measurements of the purchasing function are actual vs. planned cost, or Purchase Price Variance (PPV), supplier performance, cost reduction/avoidance, and raw material inventory days on hand, manufacturing plant delivery, customer service backorder performance and other pertinent AN business metrics. The incumbent will be responsible for finding ways to optimize the performance measurements in short and long-term horizons.
- Take risks and make decisions in the areas of 1) contingency plans in anticipation of changes in commodity supply, 2) action plans for maximized savings or cost avoidance, and 3) develop and quantify risks to support marketing strategies.
Accountability / Scope/Budget
This position reports to the Global Category Manager, Abbott Nutritionals.
- The incumbent is responsible for up to $200MM of purchases
- Over 10 globally located manufacturing facilities
- Management of a base of over 200 suppliers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business, Operations, Finance, or a Technical field.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
- 6-8 years of combined experience in operations and supply chain management, including areas such as purchasing, planning, inventory control, finance, logistics, or related fields.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in staff management and development.

- Certification by:
- Institute of Supply Management (ISM)
