The Opportunity
The Senior Communication and Marketing Specialist is a creative thinker who is responsible for the development and implementation of content for email communications, the social media strategy, websites, design collateral, scripts, and presentations.This position works out of our Waukegan, IL location in the Business Technology Services Division.As the Senior Communication and Marketing Specialist you’ll have the chance to work with a dynamic team of marketing creatives who support the marketing and communications needs of the Abbott CIO and team of 14 DVPs. You will deliver critical IT information around tools, technology, trends, talent and employee culture and engagement while collaborating with hundreds of teams across the global IT landscape. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : The successful candidate will support the IT Marketing & Communications teamin multiple areas and must be highly organized and ready to work independently in a very fast-paced environment.
Must bring general marketing knowledge and show strength in the Microsoft 0365 suite of tools, understand generative AI, and have experience with writing, proofreading, working with digital solutions, employee engagement activities corporate culture / a sense of belonging, and data & analytics for an internal Marketing and Communications team.
Develop creative briefs and strategic marketing proposals for customers, which are used to manage projects and deliver marketing tasks.
Support the annual IT Marketing & Communication strategy across more than 20 different marketing channels including in-person events.
Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously keeping in mind the Abbott brand standards, IT Marketing & Communications’ Style Guide, and Channel Strategy.
Comply with, understand, and support the overall Abbott brand standard guidelines : including visuals / imagery, voice / content / copy writing, and production of all materials.
Develop and deliver content, including email communications, newsletters, social media content, etc. for 20 different marketing channels.
Support all company initiatives as identified by management in support of Abbott and Abbott IT
Work across multiple departments, building effective relationships across a global organization and engaging customers and leaders at all levels of the organization.
Master new tasks quickly and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required, preferably in Communications, Marketing or Journalism.
