We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining embedded software for our life-changing products.
About the Role
In this role, you will work independently to identify new technologies for implementation into new product development and process improvements. You will exercise independent judgment in identifying, recommending and implementing significant and/or complex new tools/process improvements to meet company objectives in areas of new product development, product testing, process improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for our products.
- Lead technical teams in the accomplishment of software design, testing and/or maintenance activities.
- Develop networks involving cross functional/cross departmental groups as well as communication to Senior Management.
- Adjust priorities and work within team environment for timely completion of common objectives for multiple projects.
- Resolve technical issues to meet company objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Science or related engineering or scientific field.
- 8 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or 6 years with MS degree.
- Will receive additional 2 years experience credit for PhD.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in applications programming and/or software development of embedded systems for safety critical products.
