The Opportunity

This position works out of our St. Paul location in the Electrophysiology department.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Sr. Principal Technician, Hardware Engineering, you’ll have the chance to provide expert, technical support services in a lab/manufacturing environment by performing a combination of routine and non-routine duties involving varying in complexity wherein the understanding, selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument, automation systems and/or reagent development and production is critical to success.

What You’ll Work On

• Under limited supervision assist in the design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development
  
  

process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.

• Requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.
• Assists in the planning, design, and development of test requirements and any special testing equipment/apparatus to
  
  

establish product and/or customer specifications.

• Supports performance testing of prototypes accordingly to verify product reliability and performance requirements.
• Assists in the development of engineering documentation for new products or product changes.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of related technical or industry-specific experience
• Experience with databases used to monitor and maintain the lab and lab equipment (i.e.- Maximo, CMSNext, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), Lotus Notes, etc.)
• Associates Degree

The base pay for this position is $33.15 – $66.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
