The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for the role of Supply Chain Planner within our Diagnostics- Transfusion Medicine division based in Irving, TX.
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal production efficiency by deploying inventory strategies, managing product changes and material planning, solving exceptions, and driving supplier execution. This role requires expertise in supply chain and production operations, leveraging data analytics and supply chain knowledge to manage system parameters, meet target inventory and service level goals, and minimize costs and obsolescence.
WHAT YOU DO
- Supply Requirements : Create and deploy supply requirements via MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives.Ensure demand from all sources is supported appropriately.
- Planning and Coordination : Manage planning system parameters and master data to reflect supply chain capabilities.Coordinate supplier ramp-up and down for new product launches, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Decision Support : Provide data-driven decision support through what-if and scenario planning.Manage engineering changes to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure continuous supply.
- Process Improvement : Partner with IT and other stakeholders on planning process improvements.Schedule manufacturing operations to ensure parts availability, forecast requirements, and maintain inventory levels.
- Issue Management : Respond to unplanned demand or quality issues, adjusting production schedules as needed.Perform system maintenance and updates to ensure database integrity.
- Procurement and Technical Support : Develop procurement strategies compatible with economic, supply, and quality goals.Provide technical support and recommend actions if the master production schedule is missed.
- Material Flow and Efficiency : Manage material flow to achieve maximum production efficiency, minimizing waste and customer impact.Create complex simulation models, production schedules, and inventory management plans.
- Leadership and Collaboration : Lead problem-solving, goal-setting, and continuous improvement projects.Act as a liaison between departments to minimize schedule impacts.
- Specialized Knowledge and Training : Utilize specialized knowledge in manufacturing resource planning, capacity planning, master scheduling, customer service, and inventory management.Assist in training others in problem-solving and materials management techniques.
- Project Management : Plan and manage projects, establish priorities, and optimize resource use.Interpret results, recommend options, and use financial information to make informed decisions.
- Communication : Adapt communication to meet the needs of various stakeholders and share information appropriately.Participate as a team member or leader, contributing to team mission, objectives, and strategies.
