What You’ll Work On
The Utility Operator is responsible for having a thorough working knowledge of all Plant Material Control and job functions. They should have knowledge of applicable departmental equipment and systems such as forklift, Cambar, AMAPS, and MITS. The Utility is responsible for line support, receiving, loading, unloading, creating bills of lading (BOLs), assuming computer room responsibilities as needed, performing full functionality in the Shipping Office, while maintaining compliance to all GMPs, safety, and quality guidelines. Job duties may also involve some performance of preventative maintenance (i.e. monitoring and responding to Plant and automation systems and equipment). They must meet all safety and GMP requirements and have the ability and leadership to cover operation in supervisor absence.
- Creates very accurate and legible documentation, performs data entry accurately, maintains all applicable databases with needed information, and efficiently processes inbound pallets through the proper process
- Performs all loading, unloading, casepicking, barcoding, and palletizer tasks safely, follows all process procedures / guidelines, assures trailers are loaded to meet weight requirements, and performs all tasks in an efficient and effective manner
- Address people in a professional manner
- Ensure BOLs are signed / dated by Common Carrier Driver and the Clerk during the shift
- Maintains proper FIFO of finished products and FEFO of raw materials
- May include operations of forklift truck with a push-pull attachment
- Stores, picks, or assembles raw materials in the warehouse, verifying the commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number
- Checks material against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills, or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
- Delivers materials to production lines in a timely manner
- Maintains proper FEFO flow of raw materials
- Utilizes knowledge of both raw materials and finished product nomenclature
- Cleans up both raw material and finished goods warehouse areas
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures. Required Qualifications
