Position Description : The Data Analyst provides data analysis support for the Office of Education Through Employment Pathways, which is located within the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education. This is a highly skilled position requiring familiarity with educational data and policies.
The position will require the resources to produce data analysis, focusing on education and workforce-related data sets, and to produce public-facing write-ups of the data analysis that share key data insights in accessible language for the public. The Data Analyst shall have knowledge and expertise with R and Tableau. The role will involve working closely across education and workforce agency teams. The ETEP Data Analyst should possess powerful written and verbal communication skills and be able to address both business and technical audiences.
Duties :
Analyzes information and statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professionals
Creates charts and graphics to present statistical analysis in an easily digestible format for a non-technical audience
Create public-facing written reports to present analytic findings to stakeholders and the public in an accessible language
Plans, organizes, and conducts research focused on education and workforce-related topics
Responsibilities :
Demonstrates expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty
Identifies improvements to project standards to achieve high-quality services / products
Identifies best practices and standards for the use of the product
Delivers support and design for industry-specific technologies requiring systems or network integration
Interacts with executive-level business users or technical experts
Functions as a niche technical SME
Lead experience with technical expertise across large, complex implementations for systems
Requirements :
Experience working in R required
Experience working in Tableau is required
Experience in working with business stakeholders to support their data needs
Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences
Experience working with education and workforce-related data preferred
Minimum Education / Certification Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or related field or equivalent experience
