Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Provide Program Management support for assigned Integrated Evidence Strategy Team (IEST)
  2. Supports development of IEST integrated evidence plan and drives aligned execution for functional components
  3. Ensure accurate and timely tracking and reporting of team deliverables and identification, communication and management of team risks
  4. Actively participates in the advancement of Program Management and asset development at AbbVie

Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Program Management support for assigned Integrated Evidence Strategy Team(s)
    • Serves as a core member of the assigned IEST(s)
    • Serves as a key business partner for the Global Development Lead and GMA Co-Chair in developing core strategies and meeting the team’s goals
    • Operates with a strategic, cross-functional mindset
    • Coordinates team activities and deliverables and supports the team leader in driving cross-functional alignment within team and structures team meetings and discussions to drive good decision making practices
    • Ensures effective management of team meetings including scheduling, agendas, minutes, action item follow-up
    • Responsible for partnering with Asset Team PM and helping team prepare key messages and deliverables for, and navigate the governance process effectively and efficiently and appropriate use of each forum
    • Actively contributes to team discussions both from a PM functional perspective, and a cross-functional strategic perspective
    • Ensures high performing team through monitoring and assessing team’s performance and effective partnership with the team lead and Asset Team PPM
  2. Supports development of IEST Integrated Evidence Plan, Scientific Communication Plan, Precision Medicine Plan and drives aligned execution for functional components
    • In partnership with the team lead, drives development of (and participates in) creation of team plans and deliverables to inform asset strategy, and to translate asset strategy into execution by the team and associated functions
    • Maintains awareness of upcoming deliverables as a part of the asset development lifecycle to ensure team preparedness
    • Proactively identifies challenges or potential issues for execution, both within team and partnering with asset PM cross-functionally, managing or escalating as appropriate
  3. Ensures accurate and timely tracking and reporting of team deliverables and identification, communication and management of team risks
    • Partners with project planners to ensure appropriate and accurate tracking and reporting of team deliverable timelines
    • Maintains operational awareness of the team deliverables and upcoming needs by the asset team
    • Ensures appropriate team document management practices and repository of key program information for the team
    • Partners with team members to proactively identify, communicate and manage team risks, including escalation as appropriate for asset level risks
  4. Actively participates in the advancement of Program Management and asset development at AbbVie
    • Proactively seek learnings from other teams and share best practices
    • Partners with colleagues in the PM organization and teams to seek process improvement opportunities and participate as needed in developing and implementing change
    • Actively champions the AbbVie drug development process for assigned teams and seek opportunities to increase team effectiveness within the AbbVie model

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of roles in at least one role/functional area associated with drug development (research and development, commercial, project management, operations)
  • 4+ years in a cross-functional project / program management role
  • Strong program management skills and knowledge of program management practices in the pharmaceutical industry and common tools utilized
  • Well-developed communication skills – both written and oral
  • Well-developed strategic thinking and leadership skills

Preferred

  • Experience in late stage drug development, including being a part of a launch team
  • Experience across multiple evidence generating functions (HEOR, GMA, Clinical Development, etc.)
  • Experience with both global and regional teams in the pharmaceutical industry
