The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for helping build, automate, and maintain enterprise BI solutions. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to help design the systems and partner with key stakeholders in the business to drive strategic impact. As a Senior BI Engineer, you are a problem solver and genuinely like helping others solve complex problems.
We are specifically seeing a candidate with knowledge and experience of designing and operationalizing BI solutions for self-service. This role is a hybrid role, 3 days in, 2 days out per week in Lake County.
Apply concepts related to BI solution delivery including database querying, data modeling, visual design concepts and code deployment to translate AbbVie business needs to design, build and deploy various Business Intelligence solutions.
Work collaboratively with various business partners to assist in the design and implementation of analysis tools to answer business challenges.
Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation, and publication to ensure confidence in solutions.
Partner with business units and technology to prioritize and define data and BI development needs.
Work with business partners in different teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects.
Analyze and visualize data to present the findings and opportunities and output solid analysis report with recommendations.
Sync your activities and share your experience with a diverse team.
Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in technical field preferred plus 7 years’ experience or Master’s Degree plus 6 years’ experience.
Proven proficiency in SQL, DAX and Power Query M language
Proven experience and knowledge with major BI reporting tools, Power BI preferred
Experience navigating in both relational (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and non-relational (Hadoop) database/data lake environments.
Demonstrated proficiency across a wide range of data technologies, including data warehousing, data integration, data visualization and analysis.
Proven experience partnering with key stakeholders in understanding business requirements to solve key strategic initiatives.
Ability to make recommendations for new metrics, strategies, and methods to improve measurement and data collection practices.
Exposure to AWS and Microsoft technologies such as Lambda, EC2, RDS, Athena, Fabric, Power Automate, etc.
Enforces standard data architecture processes and procedures.
Full life cycle methodology includes change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to production.
