Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School seeks an experienced, collaborative, and energetic teacher to join the district for a position as the Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher. Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School (AKFCS) provides an education to 1426 students in grades kindergarten through twelve, comprised of an Elementary, Middle and High School. Monitoring and assessing of progress:
1. Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to gather data to monitor student mastery of instructional content, to improve
instruction, and to assess the comparative performance of subgroups within the classroom.
2. Reflect on practice in collaboration with administrators and colleagues, monitor personal and professional growth, and pursue
professional development in needed areas.
3. Perform relevant tasks and duties assigned by the Elementary Principal.
Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively within and across the school to integrate cross-curricular programs aligned with the district’s strategic plan.
Provide daily lessons focused on early literacy, mathematics, and other core instructive skills.
2. Complete pre and post assessments to measure students’ learning.
3. Consult with principals, school counselors, school psychologists, teachers, and administrators regarding the social and emotional
needs of students.
4. Collect and analyze data to make decisions and adjustments to practice.
5. Stay current on research and best practices in early childhood education.
6. Work collaboratively with team members and district members to provide inclusive support for students needs
7. Work collaboratively with families to support needs of individual students
Qualifications:
Hold the appropriate valid Massachusetts Teaching License in the required subject matter at the appropriate grade level.
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Current authorization to work in the United States.
Knowledge of current research and best practices in early childhood pedagogy
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships with students and their families.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Compensation:
Full Time Exempt Salary Position in accordance with the established Teacher’s Salary Scale. AKFCS also provides a comprehensive benefits package which includes the following:
