Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School seeks an experienced, collaborative, and energetic candidate to join the district for a position as a Maintenance Technician I - 3rd Shift that serves the district. Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School (AKFCS) provides an education to 1426 students in grades kindergarten through twelve, comprised of an Elementary, Middle, and High School.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will maintain the buildings and property. They will perform work during the evening inside and outside. The Maintenance Technician will also act as support to the Director of Facilities regarding the janitorial night crew and ensure they are also in turn supported. Must be available on-call for emergencies 24/7. Being reachable by cell phone for emergencies.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Grounds Duties: Maintain all grounds, exterior walks, driveways, sports fields, Including ensuring the Sports fields are ready for home games and parking lots (clearing trash) Provide support in the setup, break down and cleaning for any and all extracurricular events, both interior and exterior, during regularly scheduled work hours. Support the athletic department to ensure fields are maintained (painted) and ready for play for all scheduled sports events as required. Maintain and repair fencing, gates or other devices as needed onsite Maintain all playground equipment (inspect, tighten all bolts) Use of hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, axes etc. Provide support to building custodians district-wide on an as needed basis and during times when weather prohibits exterior work and/or as directed by your supervisor Maintenance Duties Walk buildings each day/evening to ensure everything is working. (heat, lights, AC) Performs corrective and preventive maintenance activities during the day/evening as needed, or as directed by the Director of Facilities.
Example: lights Print out work orders, complete, sign, close out and file Deliver paper and bottles of water to the main entrances of all buildings monthly for day time custodians to deliver.
Desired strengths in HVAC, Chiller and heating systems, Plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Painting and drywall repairs. May be required to lift and/or carry up to 80 pounds and occasional use of ladders.
Compensation: Full Time Hourly position
Shift: 2nd Shift (2 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Friday)
