Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with Operations and Sales regarding production related issues
- Communicate with Management, Human Resources and/or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances
- Participate in objective setting, plan development and plant performance reviews
- Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of relevant experience in a metal fabrication environment
- 5 years of general supervision with oversight of 10 employees
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Highly motivated with strong team leadership skills
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and other employees to make improvements or take corrective action
- Time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage ones own time and the time of others
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, including Windows based software and Microsoft Office applications
Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Job entails approximately 75% of working time to be spent on the production floor
- May require standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Frequently requires kneeling, climbing, walking, stooping and bending
- Moderate to loud noise level
- Fast paced environment with frequent need to change schedule
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, oils, and chemicals
