Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with Operations and Sales regarding production related issues
• Communicate with Management, Human Resources and/or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances
• Participate in objective setting, plan development and plant performance reviews
• Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years of relevant experience in a metal fabrication environment
• 5 years of general supervision with oversight of 10 employees
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Highly motivated with strong team leadership skills
• Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and other employees to make improvements or take corrective action
• Time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage ones own time and the time of others
• Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, including Windows based software and Microsoft Office applications

Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Job entails approximately 75% of working time to be spent on the production floor
• May require standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
• Frequently requires kneeling, climbing, walking, stooping and bending
• Moderate to loud noise level
• Fast paced environment with frequent need to change schedule
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, oils, and chemicals
