Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Passenger Van Driver to safely transport individuals with developmental disabilities to and from various locations, including homes and day programs. You will play a critical role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and punctual experience for our passengers.
Duties
- Transport individuals to and from their destinations safely.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring that they are secure and comfortable.
- Maintain vehicle logs, conduct pre-trip inspections, and ensure that the van is in good working order, reporting any necessary maintenance.
- Foster a positive and safe environment for passengers during each trip.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and passengers regarding any changes to schedules or routes.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Be willing/available to cover other driver's routes if/when needed.
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain patient, calm, and compassionate in all situations.
- Ability to lift and assist individuals who may require mobility support.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CDL Passenger License is a plus but not required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
