What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counter Sales position at Abc Auto Parts Ltd?
Job Description: Reporting to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Counter Sales position is responsible for surprising each customer with exceptional service and increasing profitable sales. The Counter person will meet and exceed sales budget each month, greet each and every customer whether on the phone or in person, and will act with integrity, empathy, and trustworthiness every single day. The counter sales person will achieve desired results by executing these core roles.
Core Roles:
Sales:
Achieves daily, monthly, and yearly sales goals
Greets each customer that enters the store within three seconds, and engages with a personal greeting or handshake
Answers phone by the third ring
Offers customers full line of options
Add-on sales are attempted that realistically meets the customers needs
Can elaborate and speak to sales goal and the steps that are being taken to achieve the goal
Knows most customers by name
Walks customer to product instead of pointing to area
Understands parts and tools such as catalogs, computer system, testing equipment, and can turn drums and rotors
Profit:
Keeps cash overs / shorts within company guidelines
Stays under company guidelines in regards to markdowns (markdowns are not excessive)
Bills freight on all special orders
Bills proper items to each invoice
All paperwork is accurate and meets company requirements
Follows company guidelines on all returns, refunds, and exchanges
Assists in inventory process and daily works to keep accurate on-hand counts
Team:
Recognizes co-workers for doing a great job
Maintains an extremely positive attitude on a daily basis
Stays within company dress code
Follows company guidelines on attendance
Always willing to help others
Strives for excellence in everything everyday
Participates in all company and store meetings and functions
Safety:
Follows emergency procedures
Keeps store and work area clean and clutter free
Utilizes team lifts on all heavy and bulky items
Uses the three point system when climbing ladders
Reports to manager any violations of company safety policies or unsafe working habits
Follows company safety guidelines that are laid out in the safety manual
Qualifications: Ability to stand for long periods of time, excellent computer and customer service skills, ability to routinely lift up to 40lbs. This does not include all qualifications. Please see Manager for more details.
