Shipping Clerk- Longview, TX

Job Description: Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Outbound Logistics the Shipping Clerk position is responsible for preparing and accurately loading freight that will be shipped to stores and customers. The Shipping clerk will surprise their customers (store teams) with exceptional service and will achieve desired results by executing these core roles.

Core Roles:

Department:

• Collect and verify all merchandise / containers has reached the shipping area

• Sort Merchandise and place in designated shipping lanes

• Ensures items are stacked in an efficient manner and in such a way as to not damage product

• Properly places shipping manifest with each shipment in order to maintain accuracy

• Ensure load sheets are filled out accurately

• Ensures all load sheets, manifests, and paperwork are complete and with the drivers paperwork

• Utilize hand held scanner to ensure load accuracy

• Reports to manager any violations of company safety policies or unsafe working habits

• Follows company safety guidelines that are laid out in the safety manual

• Completes forklift certification per federal guidelines

Qualifications

Qualifications: Ability to stand for long periods of time, excellent computer and customer service skills, ability to routinely lift up to 40lbs. Environment will be affected by seasonal temperatures. This does not include all qualifications. Please see Manager for more details.
