Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated CHILDCARE / DAYCARE Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and educational development of children in our care. The CHILDCARE / DAYCARE Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that foster learning through play, exploration, and interaction.
Duties
- Educate children in various subjects including basic Math concepts through engaging activities.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Provide quality toddler care by attending to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of each child.
- Develop lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and cater to the diverse needs of children.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a supportive community.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents regarding their development.
- Implement strategies for working with children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive environment for all.
- Collaborate with other educators to enhance the overall daycare experience for children.
- Providing basic care for children which includes feeding, grooming, and changing diapers.
- Developing age-appropriate socialization skills in children.
- Encouraging positive behavior and good manners.
- Using various learning methods such as stories, games, and drawing to intellectually stimulate children.
- Identifying behavioral problems and developing appropriate strategies to address them.
- Attending staff meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Holding regular parent-teacher meetings to address any issues, concerns, or parent complaints.
- Providing a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment.
- Communicating with parents and providing updates on children's progress.
- Lead and Develop creative hands-on activities and projects based on your observations of children’s interests and skills.
- Document and share with parents the important milestones in a child’s day.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop a creative curriculum that is designed to instill in children a love of learning.
- Requirements:
Qualifications
- A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a daycare or educational setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate educational activities into playtime.
- Experience working with special education needs or children with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners are essential traits for success in this role.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Child care professional (CCP) certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience working as a childcare teacher.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred.
- Clear criminal background check.
- In-depth understanding of childhood development.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attentive and patient.
- At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Pass required state and company background checks.
- At least six months of experience working with children in a professional setting
- Early childhood coursework, CDA, or degree preferred.
