What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher- Lead position at ABC and LOL Child Care Center and Preschool?
ABC & LOL, LLC is looking for a nurturing and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our team. The Lead Infant Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for infants (ages 0-12 months). The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a deep understanding of infant development. This position requires a strong ability to work closely with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to ensure that each infant receives the highest quality of care.
Duties
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of infants.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where infants can explore, learn, and grow.
- Ensure that all safety, health, and hygiene standards are met, including diapering, feeding, and daily care routines.
- Observe and document each infant’s development, milestones, and behavior, providing feedback to parents as needed.
- Work closely with other staff members to create a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their infant’s progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities that support the growth and development of infants, such as sensory play and language development.
- Supervise and care for infants during daily routines, including naps, meals, and playtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and exploration.
- Support the professional growth of assistant teachers and other staff by providing guidance and training.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, center policies, and best practices in infant care.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred) or 21 college credits in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum of 1 years of experience working with infants in a childcare or early education setting.
- Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate care practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- VT Orientation training upon hire
- Mandated reporting taken upon hire
- Civil rights training upon hire
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with infants.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance (required).
