Property Accountant Job Description
A growing full-service Real Estate firm based in Beachwood Ohio is seeking a Property Accountant to join our team. The Property Accountant role will be to manage and coordinate all project accounting functions. Further, this position provides support to the construction accounting team and each of our properties and their staff.
Property Accountant Required Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, plus (2) or more years of general accounting experience.
- Experience with Sage Software/ Timberline is helpful
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills required.
- Customer service mindset with a drive to establish and continuously improve processes.
- Experience with Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
- Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- The ability to work with little supervision after appropriate training.
- The ability to consistently produce accurate and timely work while exhibiting a high degree of attention to detail.
Property Accountant Job Duties: This role is responsible for the accounting and monthly/quarterly reporting of approximately 10 properties including but not limited to:
- Detailed general ledger/sub-ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare year-end audit schedules for external CPA firms
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- Accruals
- Quarterly ownership reporting packages
- Journal entries
- Budget preparation
- Variance analysis
Currently the position is using a hybrid model of being partially in our Beachwood office and part working remotely. For the first 90 days the position will be full-time in the office to facilitate training.
